About the job Business Intelligence Analyst (PowerBI modelling)
Brighton Solutions is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join a leading organization in the Chicagoland area. In this role, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst/Data Scientist to join the finance team and provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. This position will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs using PowerBI and other tools. As a Business Intelligence Analyst/Data Scientist, you will work closely with senior management and various business units to understand their performance drivers to provide reporting and data analysis support. You will also develop and maintain financial models and Business Intelligence dashboards to support business planning and analysis. Responsibilities:
- Gathers business intelligence from sources including, but not limited to, company data, industry reports, public data, or qualitative data from business staff.
- Analyzes financial data and prepares reports, provides forecasting support through modeling, and prepares projections based on financial data.
- Compiles business intelligence on sales, membership, member behavior, and benefits and conducts statistical analyses to develop strategies and support actionable recommendations.
- Uses business intelligence data and tools to identify and monitor current and potential members.
- Assists business managers in establishing and tracking KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
- Identifies data patterns and trends to propose solutions and strategies to business challenges or new projects.
- Produces reports, timelines, and graphics to communicate progress on projects or goals to management.
- Summarizes and interprets data information using data visualization techniques and creates reports and dashboards for review by executives and managers.
- Creates and maintains consistent systems to produce visualizations and dashboards in scheduled timeframes through Microsoft Power BI.
- Maintains current knowledge of data storage and management best practices and ensures data integrity and quality.
- Provides recommendations regarding the evolution of data and reporting systems.
- Documents all processes and data used in data summaries or analyses.
- Collaborates with business staff across the company to understand the needs of the company and responds to inquiries for support.
- Performs related duties for all departments and subsidiaries who request data or analytical support.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in data analytics, information technology, finance or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst/Data Scientist or a similar role
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in PowerBI, Excel, and other financial software
- Experience developing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Perform complex data queries and data analysis, including integrating data from disparate data sources.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.
- Collaborate across all levels of the organization and with cross functional teams.
- Great Plains and/or Dynamics F/O experience preferred
