We connect skilled professionals with top-tier organizations, providing expertise where it's needed most. We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a mid-term, onsite contract role in Schaumburg, IL. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and supporting our client's end-user computing environment, ensuring minimal downtime and excellent user experience.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Provide hands-on desktop support for hardware, software, and network-related issues

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and standard applications

  • Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripherals

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within Active Directory

  • Assist with imaging and deployment of new equipment

  • Deliver timely and professional support to internal staff and escalate complex issues when needed

  • Maintain accurate records of work using a ticketing system

To perform this role, we are seeking candidates that have the following experiences:

  • 2+ years of experience in desktop or technical support

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and general hardware troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, basic networking, and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk)

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment

  • A+ or similar IT certifications are a plus

This role is a temporary contract position with an expected duration of about 6 months. The work is full-time and performed 100% onsite during normal business hours.
