About the job Desktop Support Technician

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a mid-term, onsite contract role in Schaumburg, IL. This individual will play a key role in maintaining and supporting our client's end-user computing environment, ensuring minimal downtime and excellent user experience.
Key responsibilities in this role include:

Provide hands-on desktop support for hardware, software, and network-related issues

Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and standard applications

Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripherals

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within Active Directory

Assist with imaging and deployment of new equipment

Deliver timely and professional support to internal staff and escalate complex issues when needed

Maintain accurate records of work using a ticketing system
To perform this role, we are seeking candidates that have the following experiences:

2+ years of experience in desktop or technical support

Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and general hardware troubleshooting

Familiarity with Active Directory, basic networking, and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk)

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment

A+ or similar IT certifications are a plus
This role is a temporary contract position with an expected duration of about 6 months. The work is full-time and performed 100% onsite during normal business hours.
