We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative leader dedicated to bringing communities together in the broad support of engineering initiatives around Transportation, Municipal projects and related Structural Engineering. To support this effort, we are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Structural Engineer (SE) licensed in Illinois. This position offers the flexibility of remote work or onsite support, catering to the needs and preferences of qualified candidates.
Position Overview:
As a Certified Structural Engineer (SE) licensed in the state of Illinois, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a number of projects including bridges, retaining walls and analysis - at times working closely with business development to fine tune engineering scope. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to ensure the structural integrity and safety of various projects while adhering to state codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis, design, and evaluation of projects in accordance with state and national codes.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the design and construction phases.
- Periodically perform site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions and address any concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license and Structural Engineer (SE) license in the state of Illinois. If the candidate is only Illinois certified to a PE level, we will consider sponsoring the SE exam for the right candidate
- 7+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on infrastructure rather than commercial or residential buildings.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software for structural analysis and design.
- Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
