  • Knowledge of LTE networks desired
  • Knowledge of RF propagation modeling software, including Atoll, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of FCC rules/licensing and FAA regulations desired
  • Knowledge of Microsoft computer applications required
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills required

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. RF Engineering for the LTE network, which includes:
    • Performing detailed, site-level RF planning
    • Calculating co-channel interference possibilities
    • Calculating cell site RF parameters, such as link budgets
    • Utilizing automated frequency planning / Physical Cell ID planning tools
    • Specifying the cell site antenna system and associated parameters
    • Defining call models and traffic profiles
    • Running traffic simulations
    • Analyzing cell site traffic loading trends, forecasting traffic demand and developing solutions to serve the demand
    • Calculating and analyzing cell site radiation contours to ensure regulatory compliance with applicable FCC rules and regulations
    • Producing RF coverage prediction maps and charts
    • Specifying the RF equipment and components to be used in the cell sites and creating RFDS sheets
    • Designing in-building coverage solutions/Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
    • Project managing RF equipment installations/upgrades/replacements
  2. Serve as an RF Engineering subject matter expert on standard organizations (i.e., ATIS and 3GPP) and for RF safety compliance, as well as in support of Sales with customer meetings and presentations
  3. Support RF Engineering response efforts and provide a communications path between RF Engineering and the Emergency Response Team. Develop innovative solutions to address coverage and capacity needs during disaster/storm recovery
