About the job Construction Test Technician
Brighton Solutions is seeking a hands-on construction and mechanical professional for an exciting opportunity supporting building product testing.
This role is ideal for an individual with experience in construction, framing, carpentry, welding, mechanical repair, maintenance, or similar trades who enjoys building, assembling, and working with their hands. You'll help construct and prepare full-scale test assemblies used to evaluate the performance and safety of building products and systems.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering potential for long-term career growth in a specialized technical environment. Examples of the duties to be performed in this role include:
- Build, assemble, modify, and dismantle test structures and assemblies.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical instructions.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare materials and components for testing activities.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Document work performed, measurements, and test setup details.
- Maintain organized work areas and support laboratory operations.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and testing protocols.
We are seeking an individual that has:
- Experience in construction, carpentry, framing, welding, mechanics, maintenance, fabrication, or related trades.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools in a professional environment.
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, or construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
- Reliable work ethic and willingness to learn specialized testing procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse, laboratory, or industrial environment
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
