AI Technician

Voor Airbus Netherlands B.V. zoeken wij een AI Technician. You’ll contribute to the assembly, integration and production of high-precision aerospace structures for Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands. The project supports increased production capacity for the European launcher programme and takes place in a demanding, quality-driven environment.

Your responsibilities

• You perform precision assembly of aluminium aerospace structures.
• You carry out drilling, reaming, countersinking and riveting activities.
• You work from technical drawings and production instructions, using specialised tooling.
• You operate or support automated robotic production cells, where applicable.
• You perform quality inspections and maintain accurate technical documentation and traceability.
• You coordinate production activities, monitor progress and support your colleagues when needed.
• You maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.

Your profile
You bring practical technical skills and relevant hands-on experience in aerospace, aviation, aircraft manufacturing, defence, high-end manufacturing or a comparable technical environment. The project includes several profiles:

AIT Technician / Sheet Metal Specialist

• You have experience in precision assembly, sheet metal work or structural manufacturing.
• You are familiar with drilling, reaming, countersinking and riveting.
• You can read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Your experience in aviation, aircraft manufacturing or aerospace maintenance is a strong advantage.

Senior AIT Technician / Shift Leader

• You have extensive practical experience in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing.
• You have experience coordinating technicians and managing shop-floor production activities.
• You can guide colleagues, monitor production progress and uphold quality and safety standards.
• You remain hands-on and actively support assembly activities.

KUKA Robot Operator

• You have demonstrable experience operating industrial KUKA robotic systems.
• Your experience with automated drilling or riveting cells is a strong advantage.
• You can manage robot settings, positioning and tooling changes, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• You understand industrial automation and machinery safety.

Your experience in quality inspection, including visual and dimensional checks and quality documentation, is also relevant to the project team.

• You have relevant technical education or equivalent practical experience.
• You bring proven, relevant hands-on technical experience; this role is not suited to school-leavers without practical experience.
• You understand technical drawings, work instructions and quality procedures.
• You have a good command of spoken and written English. Dutch is an advantage.
• You are willing to work on-site and can support different shifts when operationally required.

If you have a senior technical background, you are welcome to apply, provided you have the relevant practical skills and are motivated to remain actively involved in production.

Functie-wensen

• Bij voorkeur heb je ervaring in de luchtvaart, vliegtuigbouw of het onderhoud van luchtvaartuigen.
• Ervaring met geautomatiseerde boor- of klinknagelcellen is een groot pluspunt.
• Het is een pre als je Nederlands spreekt.
