We are seeking a Technical Shift Supervisor to oversee and manage mechanical and electrical repair works, preventive maintenance, and technical operations within the company. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure that all production machinery, utilities, and engineering works are properly maintained, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute mechanical and electrical repair works to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for production machinery, plants, utilities, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of all production machines, utilities, and engineering activities to ensure accountability and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure all plants, machinery, and utilities remain in optimal working condition, reducing idle and downtime to the lowest possible levels.
- Serve as the acting Production Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to review stock levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, taking necessary action as needed.
- Plan and oversee the manufacturing of moulds, tools, and machine spare parts, ensuring adherence to both local and international quality standards.
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring high-quality finished goods and minimizing waste to an optimal level (e.g., 2%).
- Ensure the availability of technical staff for the installation and dismantling of moulds, while maintaining high efficiency and minimal waste.
- Enforce discipline, compliance, and operational efficiency among department staff.
- Provide clear direction and leadership to the technical team, fostering a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
- Maintain a highly motivated and skilled workforce through continuous training and development initiatives.
- Regularly report departmental performance, challenges, and improvements to the Chairman/CEO.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman/CEO.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical maintenance.
- Strong expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair for industrial machinery and utilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, compliance standards, and risk management protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with stakeholders across operations, production, and supply chain teams.
