About the job Plant Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced Plant Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, product quality, and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise in industrial manufacturing, process optimization, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and optimize production processes to ensure efficiency, output quality, and alignment with demand planning.
- Ensure the reliability and upkeep of machinery, welding lines, coating systems, and utilities through preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Manage raw material and finished goods storage, ensuring efficient inventory turnover and material availability.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and quality assurance processes to meet international safety and certification standards.
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols in alignment with industry and regulatory requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize operational costs.
- Supervise, train, and develop plant staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and performance excellence.
Educational Background:
- Bachelors Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering; a Masters degree is a plus.
- Certified in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Project Management (PMP).
- HSE and Quality Certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001) are preferred.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in metal manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment sectors.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system diagnostics.
- Advanced understanding of industrial safety standards and occupational health regulations.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Proficient in data analysis, performance metrics, and reliability engineering principles.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Technical Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including engineering, metallurgy, welding, coating, and quality control.
- Proven leadership in plant operations with a track record of process optimization, compliance adherence, and cross-functional team management.
Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in French and English.
