Position Overview

The Sports Betting Copywriter (Mexico) is responsible for creating engaging, localized, and trend-driven content for the Mexican sports betting market. This role focuses on social media, retention channels, and sports-related editorial content, with a strong emphasis on local and international sports culture, pop culture, and digital trends.

The ideal candidate is a native Mexican Spanish speaker with a strong understanding of sports and the sports betting industry. They are highly plugged into Mexican pop culture, social media trends, and memes, and can transform real-time sports moments into engaging, on-brand content.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

• Write creative and engaging copy for social media platforms, including trend-based posts, captions, and short-form content.
• Produce copy for retention channels such as email campaigns, push notifications, SMS, and in-app communications.
• Create sports-related editorial content, including match previews, betting-focused articles, and promotional texts.
• Ensure consistent tone of voice across all channels, aligned with brand guidelines.

Sports & Betting Knowledge:

• Confidently write about sports events, leagues, teams, and betting mechanics relevant to the Mexican market.
• Simplify betting concepts into engaging, accessible messaging for a wide audience.

Trend & Pop Culture Awareness:

• Monitor Mexican pop culture, social media trends, viral formats, and memes.
• Proactively suggest creative ideas that capitalize on trending topics and sports moments.

Campaign & Retention Support:

• Support promotional campaigns, tournaments, and special events in collaboration with Retention and Social Media teams.
• Adapt messaging based on user behavior, lifecycle stage, and campaign objectives.

Localization & Cultural Adaptation:

• Translate and adapt content from English to Mexican Spanish, ensuring cultural relevance and linguistic accuracy.
• Adjust references, humor, and tone to resonate with Mexican audiences.

Proofreading & Quality Control:

• Edit and proofread own content to ensure clarity, correctness, and brand alignment.

• Ensure content meets compliance and legal standards.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with Social Media Marketing (SMM), Retention, SEO, Design, Legal, and external Marketing Agencies.

• Ensure smooth content integration across platforms and campaigns.

Qualifications:

• Native-level Mexican Spanish; strong English proficiency (B2+).

• Proven experience as a Copywriter, ideally in sports betting, iGaming, sports media, or digital entertainment.

• Strong understanding of Mexican sports culture and fan behavior.

• Deep knowledge of social media trends, memes, and digital culture in Mexico.

• Experience writing for social media and retention channels.

• Ability to adapt writing style to different formats and audiences.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
