Estate Services Coordinator
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of an Estate Services Coordinator, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £23.24 - £31.06 per Hour
Summary:
The Estate Services Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that the estates across the London Borough of Islington are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, security, and appearance.
The postholder will lead and manage a team of caretakers, overseeing their performance, training, health and wellbeing, and compliance with Health and Safety standards.
They will work collaboratively with internal council teams, partner agencies, and residents to deliver high-quality estate services, including waste and recycling, grounds maintenance, communal repairs, and estate improvements.
The role requires strong leadership, operational management, and communication skills to ensure efficient service delivery and a positive resident experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and motivate a dispersed team of caretakers, ensuring a high-quality, responsive estate service.
- Conduct regular one-to-one supervision meetings, appraisals, and wellbeing checks.
- Inspect and monitor estates for cleanliness, safety, lighting, horticulture, waste, and repairs, taking corrective action where needed.
- Oversee the delivery of contracted and in-house estate services to agreed standards.
- Ensure adherence to GDPR, safeguarding, equality, and health & safety regulations.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money.
- Good standard of general education (minimum GCSE or equivalent).
Experience:
- Proven experience delivering public-facing services in housing, estate management, or environmental services.
- Experience supervising or managing a team, including training, performance, and conduct management.
- Experience collaborating with residents, councillors, and multiple stakeholders.
