Building Safety Manager
Job Description:
We are working closely with local authority in Lambeth to assist with the appointment of a Building Safety Manager ,on a 6.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £32.80- £44.65 per hour
Summary:
The Building Safety Manager provides professional leadership, operational oversight, and assurance in the management of building safety across higher-risk residential buildings (HRBs) within Lambeth Council's housing portfolio. The role is responsible for ensuring statutory compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and associated building safety legislation, guidance, and frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the operational management of building safety arrangements for designated higher-risk residential buildings (HRBs) within Lambeth Council's housing portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other relevant fire and building safety legislation, statutory guidance, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, housing colleagues, and compliance professionals to deliver effective building safety improvements and maintain statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with Housing, Asset Management, and Repairs teams to ensure remedial actions, safety-related works, and compliance activities are prioritised and completed.
Qualifications:
- CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (or actively working towards completion).
Essentials:
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification or demonstrable professional training in fire/building safety compliance.
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) in fire safety, building safety, compliance, or housing safety management.
- Minimum of three years' relevant experience in building safety, fire safety, housing compliance, or a related field within a social housing or local authority environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, with proven ability to apply these within a social housing context.
- Proven experience developing, managing, and reviewing Building Safety Cases and Building Safety Case Reports for higher-risk residential buildings (HRBs).
- Strong understanding of building safety case principles, building control processes, resident engagement requirements, and the role of the Building Safety Regulator.
