Construction Supervisor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Construction Supervisor, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.02 - £26.64 per hour

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee building maintenance and capital projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role involves supervising operatives and subcontractors, managing day-to-day site activities, maintaining health and safety compliance, and supporting the successful delivery of highways and construction projects. The successful candidate will also participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise building maintenance and capital projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including operatives, subcontractors, materials, plant, and labour.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, safe systems of work, and Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety inspections, inductions, and monitor site progress.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety plans, identifying and managing project risks.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and partner organisations, providing regular progress updates.

Essentials:

  • Experience supervising construction, highways, or building maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Experience managing operatives, subcontractors, and site activities.
  • Ability to plan workloads, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections and ensuring quality standards.
  • Good communication, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
