Family Support Worker
Job Description:
We are working closely with Wirral MBC to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.57- £21.37 per hour
Summary:
The Family Support Worker provides intensive, evidence-based support to children, young people, and families to improve outcomes, strengthen family resilience, and prevent the escalation of need. Working across the 0–19 age range, the post holder undertakes assessments, develops and delivers tailored intervention plans, and works collaboratively with families and partner agencies to promote positive and sustainable change.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake holistic assessments and observations using approved assessment tools to identify strengths, needs, and areas requiring intervention.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and updates for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where necessary.
- Encourage participation and engagement from children, young people, and families.
- Recognise, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns and risks affecting children and young people.
- Ensure all records comply with service standards, legislation, and data protection requirements.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in Social Care, Childcare, Health, Family Support, Youth Work, or a related field.
Essentials:
- Understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the challenges facing vulnerable children and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Understanding of children's social care and early intervention services.
- Experience working directly with children, young people, and families.
- Experience undertaking family assessments and developing support plans.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
