Rate of Pay: £15.85 - £20.69 per hour

Summary:

To provide a one-to-one advocacy and supported employment service to Connect to Work participants who face significant barriers to employment, including homelessness, victims of abuse, severe mental health conditions, disabilities and additional learning needs. The Employment Specialist will manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised mentoring, vocational profiling, employment advice and ongoing support to help individuals access and sustain meaningful employment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an individual caseload of Connect to Work participants, acting as an advocate and providing intensive one-to-one mentoring and support.
• Provide a person-centred, strengths-based and participant-led employment service.
• Undertake vocational profiling and develop robust action plans to support participants throughout their time on the programme.
• Follow the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and supported employment methodology to ensure a structured and monitored pathway.
• Work closely with participants experiencing significant barriers to employment, including homelessness, abuse, severe mental health conditions, disabilities and additional learning needs.
• Provide information, advice and guidance on employment and programme support available to participants and key stakeholders.

Qualification:

• Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• Advice & Guidance qualification.
• Supported Employment qualification, or willingness to undertake the qualification following appointment.

Essentials:

• Extensive experience providing intensive, employment-focused mentoring to a caseload of participants with additional barriers and support needs.
• Knowledge and understanding of the support needs of individuals with serious mental health conditions, disabilities, Veterans, victims of abuse, non-paid carers and underrepresented groups.
• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of employment, benefits and welfare reform in Wales.
• Knowledge and experience of working with individuals experiencing extensive physical, emotional or mental barriers to employment.
• Knowledge of supported employment methodology and fidelity, including SEQF and IPS supported employment models.
• Understanding of GDPR and confidentiality within a service setting.
