Leadership Support Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Leadership Support Officer, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.30 - £17.92 per hour

Summary:

The Leadership Support Officer will provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Leadership Team, supporting the effective delivery of their responsibilities within York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority. The postholder will be responsible for managing complex schedules, coordinating meetings and public engagements, and ensuring the smooth flow of communication across internal and external stakeholders. This is a trusted role requiring a high level of professionalism, discretion, and organisational ability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential, comprehensive administrative support to the Leadership Team, including diary management, meeting preparation, travel arrangements, and document handling.
  • Coordinate public appearances, events, and official engagements, ensuring all logistical arrangements are managed effectively.
  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, liaising with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication.
  • Support the planning, monitoring, and delivery of projects and programmes led by the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and organisational deadlines, processes, and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in providing administrative, secretarial, or executive support in a fast-paced or high-profile environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in diary management, scheduling, and coordination of senior leaders commitments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and other digital tools for collaboration.
