 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Assistant Team Manager on a 3- Months contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £30.51- £41.00 per hour

Summary:

The Assistant Team Manager (ATM) will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), ensuring effective delivery of safeguarding services for children and young people. The postholder will provide day-to-day management, supervision, and professional leadership to a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring statutory duties are met and high-quality assessments and decision-making processes are in place.

The role will involve close partnership working with police, health, education, and other agencies to ensure information sharing and effective multi-agency responses to safeguard children.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management oversight and decision-making on safeguarding referrals to ensure timely and proportionate responses.
  • Support staff learning, development, and performance management in line with Council policies.
  • Make defensible threshold decisions on safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance
  • Promote effective multi-agency working and develop strong professional relationships across partner organisations.
  • Support the Team Manager with data monitoring, performance reporting, and compliance with statutory timescales.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager where required.

Essentials:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised social work qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE)

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
