Interim Executive Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of an Interim Executive Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.00 - £24.07 per hour
Summary:
The Interim Executive Officer will manage a complex and changing diary, coordinate meetings and engagements, liaise with senior stakeholders and handle sensitive and politically significant matters with discretion. This is a highly visible, externally facing role requiring excellent judgement, initiative and the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level executive support to a senior leader within the Combined Authority.
- Manage a complex and ever-changing diary, ensuring priorities are effectively coordinated and delivered.
- Act as a key liaison with MPs, elected members, government departments, businesses, community representatives, Police, Fire and other senior stakeholders.
- Represent the senior leader's office professionally and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate briefing materials, meetings, events and public engagements, ensuring the senior leader is fully prepared.
- Manage sensitive, confidential and politically significant matters with discretion and sound judgement.
Essentials:
- Experience of supporting a senior leader within a political or public sector environment is essential
- Understanding of political sensitivities and public accountability.
- Proven ability to manage complex diaries, competing priorities and demanding workloads.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement and a self-sufficient approach.
- Confidence to take the lead on issues, make decisions within delegated authority and drive activities forward with minimal supervision.
