We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of an Independent Living Team Supervisor, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.35 - £24.94 per hour

Summary:

Rugby Borough Council is seeking an experienced Independent Living Team Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operational delivery of its Independent Living Service. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for managing a team of 9 Independent Living Coordinators (Housing Officers), ensuring residents receive high-quality support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and tenancy sustainment. This is not a project role and does not include managing your own Housing Officer caseload. The focus is on team leadership, operational management, staff support, and maintaining service standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operational delivery of the Independent Living Service.
  • Line manage a team of 9 Independent Living Coordinators.
  • Manage staff rotas, annual leave, sickness absence, mileage approvals and workload allocation.
  • Provide guidance and support on complex housing and resident cases.
  • Act as the main escalation point, helping staff determine appropriate next steps.
  • Conduct supervision meetings, performance reviews and staff development.

Essentials:

  • Experience working within Housing, Independent Living, Sheltered Housing or Supported Housing Services.
  • Previous supervisory, team leader or coordination experience, or an experienced Housing Officer looking to step into a supervisory role.
  • Experience providing guidance and support on complex housing or tenancy-related cases.
  • Strong knowledge of: Housing Management, Independent Living Services, Safeguarding, Tenancy Sustainment and Resident Wellbeing
  • Experience managing: Staff rotas, Annual leave, Sickness absence and Performance and supervision
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.

  • This role requires a Basic DBS
