Summary:

As a Weighbridge Administrator (Grade 4), you will be the primary point of contact for vehicles entering and leaving the landfill site. Your core mission is to ensure the accurate recording of waste weights, verify waste types against permits, and manage the financial reconciliation of disposal fees. You play a critical role in maintaining "data integrity" for the council, ensuring that all environmental and financial records are audit-ready and compliant with public protection standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate weighbridge software to record "in" and "out" weights of all vehicles, calculating the net weight of waste deposited.
  • Verify that incoming loads match the Transfer Notes and legal descriptions provided by drivers; report any non-compliant or hazardous materials to the Landfill Supervisor.
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and maintain efficient accounting procedures for the reconciliation of income generated through tipping fees.
  • Act as the "face of the site," providing clear instructions to drivers regarding site safety rules, tipping locations, and PPE requirements.
  • Monitor traffic flow at the site entrance to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers in the weighbridge area.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GCSEs including English and Maths)

Essentials:

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and database management (experience with specific weighbridge software is a plus).
  • Understanding of Waste Management Licenses and Duty of Care regulations.
  • Proven experience in an administrative or data-entry role, ideally within a logistics, construction, or waste management environment.
  • Experience handling cash or card transactions and performing basic financial reconciliations.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
