Housing Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely with a local authority in Ashfield to assist with the appointment of a Housing Officer, on a 2-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.75- £26.05 per hour
Summary:
The Housing Officer is responsible for delivering a comprehensive tenancy and estate management service across a designated housing patch within Ashfield District. The postholder will work proactively with tenants, residents, partner agencies and internal departments to ensure tenancy conditions are upheld, communities are safe and sustainable, and vulnerable tenants receive the support they need to maintain successful tenancies.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure tenants understand and comply with the terms and conditions of their tenancy agreements.
- Identify environmental and neighbourhood issues affecting estates and coordinate appropriate action with relevant services.
- Investigate reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB), nuisance, harassment and breaches of tenancy conditions.
- Identify vulnerable tenants who may require additional support to maintain their tenancy.
- Use housing management systems and Microsoft Office applications to maintain effective records and reporting.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualification in Housing, Business Administration, Public Services or equivalent experience.
Essentials:
- Experience working within housing management, tenancy management or a customer-focused housing environment.
- Experience managing tenancy-related cases and delivering housing advice.
- Good understanding of housing management legislation, tenancy law and social housing practice.
- Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation and enforcement processes.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and supporting vulnerable tenants.
