Job Description:
We are working closely with Wirral MBC to assist with the appointment of an Independent Reviewing Officer Looked After Children Safeguarding, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £26.00- £33.82 per hour
Summary:
The Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) – Looked After Children / Safeguarding will be responsible for ensuring that children and young people who are looked after or subject to safeguarding arrangements receive high-quality, effective and timely care and protection.
Responsibilities:
- Independently chair Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Children Reviews in accordance with statutory requirements, policies and procedures.
- Ensure that children and young people are at the centre of all reviews, plans and decisions, with their wishes, feelings and views appropriately considered.
- Ensure children's care and protection plans are clear, outcome-focused, proportionate and regularly reviewed and updated.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of child protection and care plans, ensuring agreed actions are completed within appropriate timescales.
Qualifications:
- Recognised professional qualification in Social Work.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to children's social care, safeguarding and care planning.
Essentials:
- Significant post-qualification experience within children's social care.
- Extensive experience of child protection and safeguarding practice.
- Proven experience in care planning and reviewing arrangements for looked-after children.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
