Employment Mentor
Job Description:
We are working closely with a local authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of an Employment Mentor, on a 7.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.21- £18.58 per hour
Summary:
The Employment Mentor will support the delivery of the Welsh Government-funded Communities for Work Plus (C4W+) employability programme, working as part of the wider Vale Employability provision. The role requires the ability to develop comprehensive support and action plans, undertake regular assessments and reviews, maintain accurate programme records and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support a caseload of individuals who are unemployed or economically inactive.
- Provide one-to-one job search support, mentoring, guidance and encouragement.
- Support individuals to address a wide range of barriers that may prevent them from progressing towards employment.
- Help clients access appropriate training, education and skills development opportunities.
- Ensure clients are assessed and directed towards the most appropriate support and services.
Qualifications:
- Employability support and barriers to employment.
- Job search techniques and employment pathways.
- Educated to a good general standard, including English and Mathematics at GCSE level (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
- A relevant qualification in Advice and Guidance, Employability, Coaching, Mentoring, Health and Social Care, Community Development, Education, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Essentials:
- Experience of providing advice, guidance, mentoring, coaching or practical support to individuals.
- Experience of working with people who face barriers to employment, education or training.
- Experience of undertaking assessments and developing individual support or action plans.
