Personal Advisor
Job Description:
We are working closely with Sefton MBC to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor, on a 7-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.87 - £22.18 per hour
Summary:
A Personal Adviser – Care Leavers to support young people who are leaving or have left care, helping them achieve positive outcomes and develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living. The role will provide practical and person-centred support across accommodation, education, training, employment, finances, health and wellbeing, while ensuring safeguarding and statutory requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and practical support to care leavers across accommodation, financial capability, education, training, employment and community opportunities.
- Participate in the assessment, preparation, monitoring and review of Pathway Plans.
- Ensure support is person-centred and focused on empowering young people to make informed decisions.
- Promote and facilitate appropriate contact between young people and their birth families.
- Coordinate services and support to ensure care leavers access appropriate provision.
Essentials:
- Recent experience working with care leavers, looked-after children or young people within a Children's Social Care environment.
- Good understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young people leaving care.
- Experience developing, monitoring or reviewing Pathway Plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk assessment.
- Experience providing practical, person-centred support to vulnerable young people.
