We are working closely with local authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Housing Sustainment Team Manager, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £34.71- £45.87 per hour

Summary:

The Housing Sustainment Team Manager will lead the delivery of a proactive, holistic, and strengths-based homelessness prevention service, supporting vulnerable individuals and families at risk of homelessness to sustain their housing and improve long-term outcomes. Working within Housing Services, the post holder will manage a team of Housing Sustainment Officers, ensuring the effective delivery of tailored interventions, housing advice, tenancy sustainment support, and preventative services designed to address housing instability before crisis point is reached. The role will focus on early identification, prevention, and collaborative intervention, using data, referrals, and partnership working to support residents at increased risk of homelessness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Housing Sustainment Officers, ensuring effective service delivery, performance management, and continuous professional development.
  • Lead the delivery of early intervention and homelessness prevention services for households identified as being at risk of homelessness.
  • Ensure effective risk assessment, case planning, safeguarding, and support arrangements are implemented to improve housing stability and prevent homelessness.
  • Promote the housing sustainment service internally and externally to encourage appropriate referrals and partnership engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with homelessness legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, equality duties, and data protection requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Housing, Social Work, Public Services, Community Development, Social Policy, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification or membership relating to housing or homelessness services is desirable (e.g., housing management qualification or CIH membership).

Essentials:

  • Significant experience working in housing, homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, housing support, or related services.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable households and individuals at risk of homelessness or housing instability.
  • Strong understanding of homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, safeguarding, welfare systems, and early intervention approaches.

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
