We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Team Manager, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £34.28- £46.50 per hour

Summary:

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a dynamic and resilient Team Manager to join our Assessment and Child Protection (ACP) Team. This is a non-case-holding managerial role situated at the "front door" of Children's Social Care. You will work in a high-energy environment, collaborating with other Team Managers to oversee statutory assessments for new cases referred via MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub).This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to broaden their leadership skillset within a team committed to driving positive change and improving outcomes for children and families across Swindon.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality supervision and management to a team of social workers, ensuring professional development and adherence to statutory standards.
  • Lead the team during "Duty Weeks" (occurring one in every six weeks), managing the influx of new referrals from MASH and overseeing immediate safeguarding processes.
  • Ensure all statutory assessments are completed within strict legislative deadlines and to a high quality.
  • Maintain flexibility to respond to changing needs, urgent safeguarding requests, and short-notice priorities.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, DipSW, or equivalent) is essential.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience working within MASH or Assessment and Child Protection environments.
  • Direct experience in the supervision, training, and management of social work staff.
  • Active registration with Social Work England

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
