 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Worcestershire to assist with the appointment of a Contact Worker on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.59- £16.27 per hour

Summary:

The Contact Worker is an essential role within the Family Contact Service, responsible for supervising contact between children and their families as part of an assessment, plan, or review. The core purpose is to ensure that the time childrenpredominantly those looked afterspend with immediate and extended family is safe, child-appropriate, and enjoyable. The role requires working flexibly, including outside of normal office hours and at weekends, to meet the diverse needs of children and families. This is a hands-on, diverse role requiring strong communication and accurate record-keeping to support safeguarding and legal processes

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise contact between children and their families (including immediate and extended family) as part of an assessment, plan, or review
  • Ensure supervised family time is safe, child-appropriate, and enjoyable for all participants.
  • Where family time is subject to legal proceedings, ensure written recordings are completed to be filed to Court.
  • Comply with Worcestershire County Council Safeguarding policies and procedures and keep written records and produce reports.
  • Carry out all duties in a manner that promotes equality of opportunity, dignity, and due respect for all employees and service users.

Essentials:

  • Previous experience of working with children, young people, and families, particularly those involved in safeguarding or social care
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a car for providing transport is likely to be required, given the nature of the role.

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
