HR Advisor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Powys to assist with the appointment of a HR Advisor, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers/schools for HR queries and advise managers and employees regarding interpretation of Employment Policies.
  • Assist and advise managers/head teachers on a wide range of HR policies and procedures, including, grievances, gross misconduct investigations, capability, ill health and sickness absence cases.
  • To assist and support organisational management of change processes and on occasion advise on less complex change projects.
  • Deliver human resource management training and development activities that enable managers to understand and implement policies and procedures and enhance their skills in handling individual employee relations and casework issues.
  • Working alongside colleagues to develop training programmes, guidance documents and templates for service areas/schools and updating policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Provide support in relation to all aspects of recruitment, selection and contractual changes as and when required.
  • Support managers/head teachers and employees on the Redeployment Policy and actively seek to assist employees to find suitable alternatives within the authority.

Requirements:

  • Relevant HR experience Current and detailed understanding of employment legislation
  • An understanding of the key issues leading to an improvement in organizational and people performance.
  • Understanding the importance of the need to involve customers in decision making
  • Qualifications & Training
  • Relevant degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • CIPD membership (or working towards)
  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
