Leisure Attendant
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newry to assist with the appointment of a Leisure Attendant, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £11.44 - £14.40 per hour
Hours per Week: 25:25 hours
Summary:
The post holder will provide customer service support to individual and group patrons of the Leisure Centre, to help ensure visitor comfort, safety and enjoyment. This includes, as required during shift, fitness instruction/fitness classes (where qualified), gym supervision, coaching and swimming instruction (where qualified), lifeguarding and cleaning and upkeep of facilities as required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining a strong personal swimming ability, and an appropriate level of physical fitness, to facilitate safe and effective water rescues.
- Ensure safe management of spinal injuries by team deployment of spinal injury board in accordance with specialised training moderated by the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards.
- Carry out the role of Swimming Instructor / Group Exercise Coach /Fitness Instructor (where qualified) as instructed by Line Management. (Where such an opportunity is afforded, the appropriate rate will be paid). All duties to be carried out in line with Industry guidelines, NOPs and best practice.
- Perform housekeeping, cleaning and customer service duties as required to standards prescribed in the facilitys I.S.O. 9000 Procedure Manuals and other Quality System Documents.
- Enforce rules and regulations appropriately for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons.
- Monitor and assess the conduct of patrons throughout the facility with special regard to the need to protect children and vulnerable adults from danger or inappropriate behaviour, applying Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults Policy and Procedures, as required.
