Business Manager

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Haringey to assist with the appointment of a Business Manager, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £297.00 - £408.54 per Day

Summary:

The Business Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery and governance of the councils regeneration and housing programmes. The role provides strategic and operational business management support to senior programme managers and directors, contributing to the delivery of high-impact projects and ensuring performance, financial oversight, and compliance with council policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business planning and performance monitoring across the programme portfolio.
  • Provide strategic oversight of finance, procurement, risk management, and governance.
  • Develop and maintain programme controls, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Coordinate and support programme boards, ensuring decisions are informed by accurate and timely information.
  • Support resource planning, workforce development, and recruitment processes within the team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in Business Administration, Public Sector Management, Programme Management, or a related discipline.
  • Recognised project or programme management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP) is desirable.

Experience:
  • Proven experience in a business management role within a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong background in performance management, governance, and project reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budget monitoring, and procurement support.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, providing advice and support to facilitate informed decision-making.
