Mayoralty Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Mayoralty Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £15.25 - £19.47 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the Mayors first point of contact and providing assistance to support the Mayor in fulfilling their civic role.
- Managing the Mayors Office inbox, prioritising the most important and/or urgent messages and forwarding others on where necessary and ensuring all invitations and correspondence received by the Mayoralty are promptly and accurately responded to.
- Managing and maintaining the Mayors diary. This includes scheduling appointments and engagements, working with the Mayoral Chauffeur to arrange transport and any other logistics, and ensuring that the Mayor has all the information they need in advance of any events they attend.
- Preparing and circulating the Mayor and Deputy Mayors weekly schedule of events and engagements and liaising with external organisations where necessary.
- Helping to plan, co-ordinate and deliver an agreed programme of civic and charity events, to include formal parades, services, formal dinners and various fundraising activities in support of the Mayors Charity Appeal. This includes identifying venues, catering, assisting in the preparing and sharing publicity materials and working with external partners to ensure the smooth delivery of events in support of the Mayors charities.
- Develop an understanding of the specific requirements of the Mayor, pre-empting issues and identifying solutions, implementing consistent business administration systems & processes, in line with Councils ways of working.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths
- A proven commitment to high levels of customer service
