Parent and Family Worker

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham to assist with the appointment of a Parent and Family Worker, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.41 - £18.25 per hour

Summary:

To carry out specialist assessments and to deliver structured interventions to children, young people and families.

Responsibilities:

  • To work to deliver the targets set down in the service and team business plan
  • To complete specialist assessments of children, young people, parents, carers and families in line with service guidance
  • To plan and deliver structured packages graduated parenting interventions to children, young people, parents, carers and families in line with service guidance
  • To keep timely and accurate records of work, including running records and the entry of data as specified
  • To attend Multi agency meetings

Qualifications:

  • To hold 5 GCSEs at level A*-C (including English) or equivalent
  • An understanding of child development, effective parenting and attachment theory
  • Full driving licence (unless registered disabled)

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years experience of working with children, young people and their families (either paid or voluntary)
  • Experience of delivering groupwork in a variety of settings
  • Experience of undertaking specialist parenting assessments
  • Experience of managing challenging situations

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
