SEN Coordinator

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in London to assist with the appointment of a SEN Coordinator, on a 6-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £240.00 - £303.84 per Day

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake the statutory assessment process of an EHC needs assessment and the issuing of EHC Plans within twenty weeks as per the statutory deadlines, which is in accordance with The Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice January 2015.
  • To provide an EHC Assessment and Review function that enables effective and efficient support in order to build strong and resilient children, young people and families.
  • To be a champion for the use of technology (such as the case management system) to record, track and monitor our ways of working to both manage performance and inform business intelligence.
  • Ensure that systems are clearly and consistently updated with all relevant information in a timely manner.
  • To coordinate a person centred, outcome focused multi agency approach to the assessment, planning and support, ensuring that children, young people and parents are treated as equal partners in the assessment and planning process.

Qualifications: 

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent 

Experience:

  • Demonstrable extensive experience of working in an SEN service;
  • Demonstrable experience of writing high quality EHCPs;
  • Demonstrable experience of excellent verbal and written skills;
  • Demonstrable experience of meeting statutory deadlines and working in
  • autonomy as well as within a team.
  • High level of self-resilience
  • Recent experience of working within an LA SEN service
  • Must be able to write high quality EHCP
  • Must be able to meet statutory timeframes
  • Be able to attend meetings in borough/Town Hall on at least a weekly basis
  • Excellent IT, verbal and written skils

  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS
