Streetcare Waste Cleansing HGV Driver

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bristol to assist with the appointment of a Streetcare Waste Cleansing HGV Driver, on a 3.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.50 - £17.88 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • If relevant provide support and advice, and allocate daily tasks, to a small group of staff ensuring they have clear instructions.
  • Check and ensure work is completed to the required standards with any suggestions made to improve service quality.
  • Operate/use specialist equipment on a daily basis to a high standard ensuring that safety procedures are followed and reporting faults and breakdowns as part of routine checks of equipment.
  • Work within the approved risk assessment framework ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues reporting any issues of concern.
  • Communicate with customers to give good, accurate advice and information.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of face to face contact with the public within a working environment showing competency in customer care
  • Be able to interpret and follow health and safety advice and regulations relevant to the post as instructed through written instruction and procedures/risk assessments, verbal advice, and toolbox talks
  • Experience in using mobile working technologies such as hand-held devices
  • Driving licence and CPC to category C1E no restrictions. For tractor driving responsibilities this will be Category 
  • Be able to demonstrate a good level of literacy and able to interpret information. Instructions, maps and specifications from paper or on hand held technology.
  • Detailed experience in horticultural or gardening services or street cleansing services 
  • You will hold a vocational qualification e.g. NVQ 2 or equivalent, or similar level of accreditation or equivalent experience
  • You will have experience of working in similar service area.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and specialist equipment.
