Senior Valuer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Senior Valuer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £25.00 - £31.26 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Professional advice, input and management of the residential (excluding Council housing), retail, commercial and industrial property and in particular the management of District and Local Shopping Centres.
  • Manage staff working to the postholder through procedural control including key result areas and development and staff appraisal techniques. Allocate cases, and give guidance, supervise, direct as well as ensure completion of assigned cases.
  • Ensure that valuation work undertaken by staff working to the postholder is in accordance with the Statutory Code and CIPFA and RICS Practice Statements and Guidance Notes and is in compliance with the Council's standing orders, financial regulations, codes and practices as well as the Division's office procedures and ISO Quality Standards and statements.
  • Assess and undertake the leasing and renewal of leases of primarily retail, commercial, industrial and non-operational property.
  • Undertake valuations for rent review. Analyse market evidence, initiate, negotiate and implement rent reviews in order to maximise the Councils rental income.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (General Practice) with at least 2 years (preferred 5) relevant post qualification experience including undertaking asset valuations, acquisition, management and disposal casework.
  • Experience of dealing with commercial and residential development.
