Social Work Resource Assistant

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Social Work Resource Assistant, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.38 - £15.38 per hour

Hours Per Week :18.50

Summary:

This post is required to provide support to Social Workers and Managers across Adult Services. This will require working within current legislation and following Council policies, procedures and practice

On a day-to-day basis, this will involve:

  • Communicating with service users or their representatives
  • Liaising with Social Workers, Team Managers, Service Users, Families, GPs and other providers
  • Updating and maintaining client database
  • Monitoring and managing outlook mailbox

Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the incoming calls from service users or their representatives as part of the duty process signposting and/or passing on relevant information to social workers
  • To support teams and managers with updating, maintaining social work pending /allocation lists/screening/locality/Legal spreadsheets and provide statistical information as required
  • To maintain and manage Adult Services outlook mailboxes as required
  • To monitor Business Support Team Carefirst desktop requests
  • Coordinate and book screening appointments, send appointment letters, book meeting rooms, follow up support documentation

Experience:

  • Experience of dealing with the public
  • Experience of Microsoft Office including excel and outlook
  • Experience of working to Legislative / Corporate procedures, processes and guidelines

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an basic DBS
