Employment Advisor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of an Employment Advisor, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.66 - £24.44 per Hour

Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Employment Advisor to join the Economic Development and Skills team. You will play a key role in supporting job seekers, particularly those who have been out of work for longer periods, by helping them overcome employment barriers, improve confidence, and secure sustainable employment. You will manage a caseload of clients, providing one-to-one tailored advice, employability workshops, and access to relevant services in collaboration with multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred employment advice and support.
  • Conduct Early Help Assessments and develop action plans for job seekers.
  • Motivate and guide clients in job searching, applications, CV writing, and interview preparation.
  • Work with local employers, training providers, and agencies to identify job and training opportunities.
  • Coordinate employer engagement activities, including job fairs, open days, and recruitment events.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience providing personalised advice and employability support.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume or complex caseload.
  • Experience facilitating workshops on CVs, applications, and interview techniques.
  • Strong understanding of client safeguarding and data protection (GDPR).

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a basic DBS
