Children's Social Worker
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker with extensive experience across the child welfare system to join a local authority in North Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection and court work, ensuring the safety and well-being of children through strength-based interventions with families.
You will work within NYC's defined practice model, which is rooted in systemic principles, Signs of Safety, and Family Seeing methodology. Collaboration with multi-agency partners, the child's network, and team colleagues is essential to delivering the best outcomes for children and their families.
Rate of Pay:£37 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Lead child protection investigations and court proceedings, ensuring robust assessments and care planning.
- Work in a strength-based approach with children and their families to promote safety and well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners, including education, health, and legal services.
- Ensure compliance with child care legislation and best practice frameworks.
- Maintain high-quality case recording and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance within your team, contributing to a supportive and reflective working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (to comply with new agency regulations).
- Social Work England registration, with no annotations or restrictions on practice.
- Strong knowledge of child protection, court processes, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
- Full UK drivers license and access to a vehicle (essential).
