Information and Capture Technician

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham to assist with the appointment of an Information and Capture Technician, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £11.59 - £14.51 per hour

Summary:

Operate digital capture systems and solutions; accurately prepare documents, scan, validate, verify, and release data from the Corporate Scanning Solution to both internal and external customers which meets the standards required by external audit organisations.

Assist in the delivery of a corporate and centralised scanning and retrieval solution, digitally capturing various document types, sizes and formats in a disciplined secure and confidential environment for the whole Council and other organisations.

Responsibilities:

    1. Input data and information accurately onto the database (Egizmo) to produce summary sheets and unique bar codes identifiers for each job
    2. Operate and maintain digital capture (scan) systems and solutions and/or similar computerised systems to produce high quality digital images - the vast majority of files captured are of highly confidential i.e. HR files, Finance files, Legal Services Court Files, BMS forms and large format plans & drawings etc.
    3. Accurately prepare files to ensure file contents correspond with file title and other file specific information such as the National Insurance numbers.
    4. Scan, validate, verify (quality assure) and release data from the Corporate Scanning Solution to both internal and external customers systems.
    5. Validate large volumes of files with accurate information to enable retrieval. This process includes the use of the Oracle Database Connection look up table to select Nation Insurance numbers to populate the validation fields.

    Qualifications:

    • Good standard of general education.
    • Evidence of good standard of written English & Mathematics.
    • Good knowledge of IT applications e.g. MS Word & Excel.
    • Understanding of Local Authority Policies & Procedures.
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of the principles of the Data Protection Act.
    • Full driving licence - desirable

    Experience

    • Experience of scanning and archiving solutions & systems experience of office administration procedures.
    • Understanding of working in a production environment
    • Understanding of using defined business processes and following guidance.
