Rate of Pay: £16.29 - £22.27 per hour

Summary:

The EHC Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process for children and young people with SEND (025 years old). This includes the development and ongoing review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring that all statutory duties are fulfilled and that young people receive appropriate support to meet their developmental and educational goals.

Working within the Nottinghamshire Integrated Childrens Disability Service (ICDS), you will hold a caseload of pre-16 cases, liaise with families and multi-agency professionals, and ensure compliance with SEND legislation and Nottinghamshire County Council procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage a caseload of children and young people requiring EHCPs, ensuring all statutory timescales are met.
• Lead and facilitate the EHC Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
• Draft high-quality EHCPs, incorporating the child or young persons aspirations and ensuring that outcomes are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timebound).
• Facilitate co-production with parents, carers, and young people, ensuring their voice is at the heart of the planning process.
• Chair and participate in key meetings including Annual Reviews, Transition Planning, and Placement at Risk panels.

Requirements:

• Level 5 qualification or higher in a related Childrens Services, Education, Social Care, or Health field.
• Knowledge and understanding of:Children & Families Act 2014, SEND Regulations 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015, Care Act 2014, Equality Act 2010, Education Act 1996, Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Knowledge of person-centred planning, the Local Offer, and multi-agency working frameworks.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with SEND in education, health, or social care settings.
• Proven experience of working in co-production with families and young people.
• Experience leading or contributing to multi-agency meetings.
• Demonstrated ability to draft detailed, legally compliant EHCPs.
• Experience of managing expectations and communicating decisions that may be difficult for families to hear.
