Disrepair Surveyor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Disrepair Surveyor, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £26.89 - £34.84 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with tenants and their representatives' access arrangements, to carry out appropriate inspections and produce detailed reports with photographic evidence, a Scott schedule/ specification of work itemised from the schedule of rates or using composite values.
  • To carry out pre/post inspections to identify repairs/defects and potential improvements. To prepare specifications and estimates as when required.
  • Attend properties to carry out appropriate inspections and provide advice to tenants on a range of health and housing issues. Maintaining proper records of visits and inspection findings, making recommendations to senior managers on any areas needing further actions.
  • Work independently and manage a variable caseload in relation to disrepair and insurance.
  • To investigate, monitor and manage works in relation to disrepair issues, structural repairs, and insurance works.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of building maintenance
  • Experience of the diverse issues affecting poor health in social housing
  • Degree / HNC and /or membership of a recognized professional body or equivalent qualification and experience in legal disrepair

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a basic DBS
