Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackney to assist with the appointment of a Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £21.31 - £27.12 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- Work with individuals and families in temporary accommodation, who are ineligible to bid for social lettings due to arrears. We expect this will take a relational approach, where you will build engagement with the resident and provide holistic support.
- Ensure that individuals and families in temporary accommodation have maximised their income and achieved the maximum possible entitlement to welfare benefits through providing them with appropriate benefits advice and support
- Support individuals and families in temporary accommodation who have built up chronic and unaffordable levels of debt, by working collaboratively with them to ensure they receive appropriate independent debt advice from debt advice agencies
- Act as a key point of liaison with the TA team keeping them updated with progress on cases that have been referred
- Work with colleagues to ensure outcomes are accurately and consistently recorded and all data is securely held and available to auditors
Qualifications:
- Has experience of best practice in building relationships and working with vulnerable residents with complex needs, towards positive behaviour change
- Has and maintains a detailed working knowledge of law, practice, council policy and guidance relating to financial support, such as: Disability-related welfare benefits including PIP, DLA and Attendance Allowance and Good working understanding of Housing Benefit and how it is calculated etc.
