Fire Safety Coordinator

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Fire Safety Coordinator, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £19.81 - £25.87 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and administer the programme of fire risk assessments and other fire safety related matters ensuring we meet our legal obligation at all times. This will include managing the fire safety surveyors visits and prioritising actions to ensure the business needs are met.
  • Responsible for recording and evidencing compliance with the Council's legal obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Manage workloads of Fire Surveyors to ensure maximum use of resources.
  • Manage existing IT systems and develop new where and when required. Responsible for regular reviews to ensure that they remain fit for purpose in accordance with legislation and any subsequent legal amendments.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management of levels of compliance, highlighting areas of concern and developing remedial actions to mitigate any risks.
  • Responsible for managing and reporting on data from fire risk assessments and compiling risk actions to other business units and departments, including target and date setting.

Requirements:

  • Experience of high-volume file / process-oriented tasks in a public sector environment
  • Able to use MS Word and Excel packages proficiently.
  • Level of numeracy and literacy to analyse data and write reports and correspondence commensurate to grade.
