Registered Service Manager

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Registered Service Manager, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £200.05 - £263.70 per Day

Summary:

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Care Manager to lead and manage the Orient Street Residential Respite Unit, a 5-bed facility offering short breaks for adults with learning disabilities and autism. The manager will ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and choice, in compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and Southwarks commitment to excellent service provision.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the CQC Registered Manager and ensure the service maintains a rating of Good or better through rigorous quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of care and support staff, promoting a safe, person-centred culture of care.
  • Manage referrals and bookings, ensuring equitable access to respite services, including urgent and enablement placements.
  • Develop and oversee care planning, case recording, and compliance systems in line with CQC regulations and Southwark policies.
  • Respond to complaints, safeguarding issues, and incidents, ensuring resolution and learning are embedded in practice.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care (or working towards)
  • Detailed understanding of CQC regulations, Care Act 2014, safeguarding, mental capacity, and health & safety legislationKnowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), learning disabilities, autism, and best practice in residential care.

Experience:

  • Significant experience working in a residential care setting with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Proven track record in team leadership, performance management, and service delivery within compliance frameworks (e.g., CQC)
  • Experience managing complex behaviours and supporting individuals using reablement and personalisation principles.
