Estate Surveyor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Gloucestershire to assist with the appointment of a Estate Surveyor, on a 4.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £235.60 - £295.81 per Day

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice to customers on interpreting and applying policies and technical principles ensuring that effective customer relationships are established and maintained by giving clear and accurate advice quickly, making sure that the Council is aware of any implications, risks and benefits and that policy proposals are developed.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with department and Council policies, regulations and codes of practice.
  • Prepare and present reports as required on a range of technical issues ensuring that they meet Council guidelines, are completed on time and the Councils position is advocated.
  • If relevant: assist in the supervision and development of a team. Co-ordinate, allocate and check the work of teams, ensuring that performance objectives are achieved and team work is effective
  • Give technical guidance and training to team members and other colleagues and partners as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Estate management or similar, Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, General Practice Division (or equivalent).
  • Effective IT skills and working knowledge of word processing, databases and spreadsheet packages. Ideally, experience of MapInfo (although training will be given if needed).
  • The post holder must possess good communication and organisational skills and be able to meet commercial and contractual deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own, prioritise work and deliver projects
  • Able to negotiate effectively with a range of people.
