We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Surveyor, on a 5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £25.78 - £33.08 per Hour

Responsibilities:

• To oversee appointed contractors carrying out repairs and minor improvement works on an allocated patch, taking ownership and carrying out effective liaison, to ensure a high quality repairs and maintenance service at the best possible cost.
• To undertake the full range of technical and inspection duties in relation to repairs and minor improvements to occupied and void homes, external and communal areas and playgrounds on your patch
• assess properties for hazards such as damp, mould, excess cold, sanitation, drainage etc,
• Raise works orders and variation orders, obtain, challenge costs and approve quotations for specialised/non-standard works;
• Work supervision, contractor liaison and progress monitoring to ensure target dates are achieved and quality standards are met

Qualifications:

• Experience of working in a Repairs and Maintenance environment.
• Experience of providing technical support and advice to a range of stakeholders.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to produce technical reports.
