Business Support Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.42 - £22.23 per hour

Summary:

Provides customer focussed Parks and Leisure services through ensuring the effective delivery of the Arboricultural Contract, divisional performance reporting, effective budget monitoring and responsible for stakeholder management through customer enquiries and complaints. Takes responsibility for coordinating business activities and establishing systems, on behalf of the division and senior management, to help the team work better and smarter to ensure high quality customer service is delivered in accordance with the Councils policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the successful delivery of the Arboricultural Services Contract including ensuring effective contract management through the issuing of works and ensuring the contract is meeting specified schedules.
  • Leads in the rollout of new procedures relating to the Councils business systems, with a particular emphasis on exploiting benefits of IT, providing guidance to senior managers.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation of information as and when required including the provision of technical and non-technical reports.
  • Contribute to the management and monitoring of budgets and responsible for processing of payments to contractors.
  • Provides coordination and processing role regarding Divisional finance with regards to the ordering of supplies, raising of purchase orders and the processing of invoices on behalf of service managers. Does this efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and recommends improvements to systems where appropriate.

Experience:

  • Setting up and maintaining administrative systems and complex records ESI
  • Liaison with internal and external individuals and organisations on administrative issues ESI
  • Preparation of a range of documents, letters, and reports to a high standard ESI
  • Using a range of IT packages including word and excel and other packages for presenting information to a high standard ESI
  • Preparation of financial or numerical information
