Operation Engage Youth and Family Practitioner

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of an Operation Engage Youth and Family Practitioner, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.28 - £26.01 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible to make the initial positive engagement with young people in the Wood Green custody
  • To screen and identify young people/s additional needs/risks, using the screening tools provided to develop understanding of young peoples needs
  • To provide targeted support to young people and deliver evidence-based interventions as part of the Early Help approach
  • To provide information, advice and guidance, make referrals and signpost young people to Early Help services where appropriate in line with the projects expectations and agreed referral pathways
  • Conduct post release meetings in the community with young people and their families/carers where relevant to follow up on the support and any identified needs and concerns.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working with children and young people aged 11-19 particularly young people who are vulnerable.
  • A qualification in Youth Work JNC or equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or other relevant professional.
  • Experience of working with families / parents/carers in a multi-agency environment.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS
