Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.27 - £21.76 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • To provide housing service advice and information to customers by telephone, email or in person as part of a reception service. To signpost clients to other services and departments as required.
  • To work late as and when the service demands. This is to assist late comers for temporary accommodation.
  • To ring around daily to secure properties for the use of emergency overnight accommodation.
  • To follow up any interest from prospective new landlords as directed by Senior Access & Support Officer, provide them with the relevant information and inform them of the nightly rate.
  • To allocate properties in accordance with client risks and general circumstances ensuring suitability in line with housing legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and show an ability to build good relationships with other departments, landlords and external organisation
  • Experience in a variety of administration duties, be computer literate and willing to learn new I.T skills. 
  • A good working knowledge MS Excel is required.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a basic DBS
