Personal Advisor

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor, on a 7-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £17.59 - £21.70 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a professional representative for Care Leavers by working with a focus on delivering services to those people who access or need the service, in line with statutory duties, acting with integrity, professionalism and respect on behalf of the organisation, ensuring at all times that the needs of individuals are paramount.
  • Prepare for, and work with individual young people to assess their needs and circumstances through Pathway Planning, implement packages of intervention and support and evaluate and monitor progress considering best value options.
  • Manage a caseload under regular supervision. Assess needs, risks and options taking into account legal and other requirements. Work effectively in partnership with other staff and voluntary agencies and gain a good understanding of all the relevant health, voluntary and private services in the area.
  • Report any allegation or suspicions of abuse or potential abuse of a vulnerable person to an immediate manager or supervisor.
  • Use professional knowledge to negotiate with and on behalf of those people who access or need the service and with a wide range of providers and other professionals, including acting as a personal advocate for service users.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree, or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in providing advice and support to young people.
  • Relevant postgraduate professional qualification, or equivalent qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret people-related information and data in order to prioritise needs, and to negotiate and implement effective plans for intervention and service provision.
