Qualified Animal Licensing Officer

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Ashfield to assist with the appointment of a Qualified Animal Licensing Officer, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £31.00 - £40.00 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake inspections of premises and operations and undertakings as required by statute and/or the authorities policy and procedures and in line with legal requirements and other statutory/non- statutory controls so as to ensure a satisfactory resolution, including any enforcement action necessary
  • To respond to service requests and complaints and offer advice and assistance in accordance with statutory requirements and the authorities policies
  • To adopt a positive enforcement role where necessary: including service of Regulatory Notices, notwithstanding the personal responsibility of the requirements of legislation
  • To undertake the designated specialist duties with a minimum of supervision and guidance and promote and encourage high standards of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene awareness and controls in businesses and industry in the district
  • To make decisions on a day to day basis in respect of routine duties and the authorities policies, aims and objectives and ensure that all records and databases associated with the role are maintained and kept up to date

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
  • Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB) or Eligibility for working towards Environmental Health Officers registration Board (EHORB)
  • Demonstrable experience as an Environmental Health Practitioner/Officer
